Web1. dec 2024 · The Topcor is probably sharper too, just because it's simpler. The 30cm/5.6 seems quite alright for what it is, although a bit too large. It looks around the same size as my Minolta MC 300/4.5, which is sharp but does have a lot of CA and uses 2 additional elements + special glass.

The lens is an absolute joy to use, nicely made with a rapid focus level which is properly cool. Close focus is about 1m which isn't great but a 10mm tube should sort that if I need to get intimate with a flower.
